About Myself
Ayubowan! …an island greeting that warmly welcomes and bids you a long and abundant life. My home, this tropical island of Sri Lanka, lazing amidst the warm turquoise blue waters of the Indian Ocean, overflows with beautiful memories of warm sun, relentless rains, steaming cups of tea intermingled with the daily hustle and bustle and familiar fragrances of island life. To me this sense of home cannot be experienced anywhere else in the world. The colours, the vibrance and the warmth of the climate and its people have moulded me into the individual I am now, giving me a perspective on life, I would not have otherwise gained.
Every child has a dream. My dream was to travel to the furthest corners of the world, to experience and enjoy the beauty of different cultures, their traditions, fashions and lifestyles. We are custodians of this planet we call home and all species that live within its sphere. This has led me to a venture, in which fashion and conservation of nature, go hand in hand. A clothing line which nurtures nature with every purchase, with the goal of planting 25,000 trees by the year 2023. A plant with every purchase, encourages and educates entire families on the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability.
My role model and inspiration in life will always be my dad. Through him I learnt the priceless values of dedication, commitment, working hard to achieve one’s goals, the importance of being independent and reaching for the stars, as well as to give back and contribute to the society, that supported my journey. These values instilled in me during my childhood, laid the foundation for the launch of a tech start up 2 years ago, with a group of like-minded individuals, to design and develop apps and other tools that add value to communities.
